It's quite important to understand how much energy we consume as individuals, as families and as a society. Only then can we control long term environmental pollution such as nuclear waste, air pollution from cars and driving, as well as open mines, deforestation and destruction of natural habitats. Hopefully, we can get this under control so that we can pass on a better quality of life for our next generation.
