As a Canadian company, Petro-Canada fully respects the official languages of the country. As there are few examples of Canadian companies that operate corporate blogs in both official languages, we have created the following approach to guide our efforts.
- Petro-Canada will operate two separate blogs. One blog will be completely in English, titled PumpTalk and the other will be completely in French, titled Pleins-gaz.
- Users are free to post comments on either site in French or English, as long as they comply with our Comments Policy.
- In order to respect the original intent of comments made on the blogs, we will not translate comments posted by users of the site.
- We will search for links to third-party content in both official languages, however, in cases where materials are only available in one language, we will err on the side of providing quality information to users of the blog and provide a link.
